Cllr Andy Parker (Vice Chairman)

I moved into the village 20 years ago, and have been part of the community ever since. Both I, and my wife, have served on the Parish Council, and I am currently Chair of Governors at the village school.  We have now lived here for longer than any other place we’ve been, having moved around regularly in support of my career in the Royal Air Force, and subsequently as a civilian Qualified Instructor of trainee pilots & aircrew at RAFC Cranwell.  We have a grown up son at university, and a dog, which we can often be seen out with, around the village.

My own aims within the Parish Council are to try to ensure high quality support to the village through development of a longer term strategy and vision, whilst ensuring best value for money for all. I believe that given the limits of our resources, we must choose carefully and ensure that our decisions support long term improvement to the community and do not become a millstone, financially.  I also wish to try to get more villagers involved in having their say, and to engage with both the District Council and County Council, to ensure that we are not forgotten when it comes to higher level support. The parish council should support all parishioners and represent their needs realistically, and this can only be achieved if those needs are heard, and so we rely on your feedback to guide our thoughts.
